Main Window Components
The main pLOT window consists of 4 parts. The Menu bar (Red), the Toolbar (Green) the Main map display (Light blue) and two detachable/docked windows.
The Tools Docking Window
The detachable Tools window's top panel can be used to edit the properties of the project such as the sequence name, source and organism as well as to open editors for project references and notes.
The bottom panel shows properties of the feature currently selected by clicking it on the main map.
This window can be docked or undocked by pressing Ctrl+T, by dragging it away from the main window, or by clicking the buttons in the title bar.
The Feature Viewer Docking Window
The detachable Feature Viewer window displays sequence information and translation of the feature currently selected by clicking it on the main map.
Right clicking the title bar of this window pops up a menu with formatting options for displaying the sequence and/or translation. Sequences can be displayed as single or double stranded with reading frames 1, 2, 3, or all.
This window can be detached by clicking Ctrl+X, by dragging it away from the main window, or by clicking the buttons in the title bar.
