===== Opening the Virtual Gel Window =====
When a project is loaded or started, the virtual gel can be shown by pressing (Ctrl + G) or clicking the Tools>Show Virtual Gel menu item.

===== Setting the minimum fragment size =====
The size corresponding to the bottom of the gel can be set using the dropdown box in the upper right side of the gel window.
===== Show/Hide band sizes =====
The size of fragments on the gel can be shown or hidden by clicking the top-right check box labeled "Show Bp".
===== Selecting ladders =====
Ladder markers can be specified for the left and right sides of the gel individually by selecting them in the top left or right dropdown boxes.
===== Adding or editing ladders =====
Custom ladders can be added using the [[Ladder Editor Window|Ladder Editor]] window.
===== Identifying the band in your sequence =====
A specific band on a gel can be identified by hovering the mouse over the band, causing the map in the main window will highlight the region corresponding to that fragment.  The Gel's tooltip will also popup showing the size of the fragment over which the mouse is hovering.
